1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using InceNar ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.
2. Description of Service
InceNar is a digital marketplace connecting independent authors with readers. We provide tools for publishing, selling, and purchasing digital books, as well as community features including:
- PostFliks - Community feed for industry news, job posting and author posts
- Library & Reading - Digital reading with streak tracking
3. User Accounts
You must create an account to use certain features. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and all activities under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use.
4. Eligibility & Age Requirements
- By creating an account or otherwise using the Platform, you represent that you are at least 13 years old, or the minimum age required to consent to use of online services in your country if that age is higher. The Platform is not directed to children under this age, and we do not intentionally or knowingly permit them to create an account; we rely on this representation and do not independently verify age.
- If you are under 18, you represent that a parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf, consents to your use of the Platform, and is responsible for supervising your account activity.
- Certain features - including publishing books for sale, receiving royalty payouts, and other commercial transactions - require you to meet the minimum age set by our payment processor (PayPal), which is generally 18 or the age of majority in your jurisdiction. You must meet that requirement before enabling these features.
- We may suspend or terminate, and delete data associated with, any account we discover does not meet these age requirements. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle information relating to children.
5. Author Terms
Authors retain copyright to their works. By uploading content, you grant InceNar a non-exclusive license to distribute and sell your books on the Platform. Authors receive royalties on net sales revenue at the configured rate. InceNar retains a platform fee.
Authors are solely responsible for ensuring their content does not infringe third-party rights or violate applicable laws.
To publish content for sale or receive royalty payouts, you must meet the minimum age requirements described in Section 4 above.
6. Community Features (PostFliks)
- Posts by authors on PostFliks are visible to all users. Users may engage via replies and likes.
- You may block other users from interacting with your content at any time via your account settings.
- You may not use community features to harass, spam, or post prohibited content.
- InceNar reserves the right to remove any post that violates these Terms.
7. Purchases and Refunds
All sales are final. Due to the digital nature of our products, we do not offer refunds except in cases of technical defects that prevent access to purchased content. This refund policy applies to soft copy (ebook) purchases; hardcover and paperback purchases are covered separately under Section 8.
8. Hardcover, Paperback & Delivery
Some books are also available as printed hardcover or paperback copies, in addition to or instead of the digital edition. The following applies specifically to hardcover and paperback orders:
- Printing, packaging, and shipping of hardcover and paperback orders is arranged directly between the author and the buyer. InceNar processes the payment and tracks delivery status, but is not the courier or printer.
- By default, hardcover and paperback delivery is limited to within the same country as the author. Cross-border delivery (e.g. within a regional trade zone, or worldwide) is only available where InceNar has explicitly enabled it for that route.
- Delivery progresses through the following stages, each marked by the author or buyer as applicable: order placed, sent by author, in warehouse, dispatched, delivered, and confirmed received. You can track your order's current stage at any time from your order page.
- Once an order is marked "delivered" by the author, you must confirm receipt by entering your order number (the same unique code shown on your order confirmation) or report that you did not receive the item. If you neither confirm nor report an issue, we may follow up to resolve the order.
- Once you've confirmed receipt of a hardcover or paperback order, you have 7 days to request a return directly from your order page. The author can approve or reject the request; if approved, your copy's stock is restored once the author confirms the book has physically been returned to them.
- Delivery of hardcover and paperback orders is strictly between you and the author - InceNar is not a party to it. Because of this, InceNar does not process, mediate, or issue refunds for hardcover or paperback orders under any circumstance, including non-delivery, damage, delay, or a returned item. If you believe you're owed a refund, you must arrange it directly with the author. If an order is disputed and cannot be confirmed as delivered, we may cancel it and release its stock so it stops showing as sold, but this is a record-keeping step only and is separate from, and does not itself constitute or guarantee, any refund.
- Authors selling hardcover or paperback editions must provide a valid physical address for shipping purposes. This address is reviewed by InceNar before being shown publicly, and an author's own visibility preference is always respected.
9. Prohibited Content
You may not post, upload, or transmit content that is:
- Illegal, infringing, defamatory, obscene, or otherwise objectionable
- Spam, phishing, or malware
- Harassment or targeted abuse of other users
- Content you do not have rights to distribute
InceNar reserves the right to remove any content and suspend accounts that violate these terms.
10. Storage Subscriptions
Authors may purchase storage subscriptions (Basic, Pro, Unlimited) to upload books and access premium features. Subscriptions auto-renew monthly unless cancelled. No refunds for partial months. Downgrading a plan takes effect at the next billing cycle.
11. Limitation of Liability
InceNar is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Platform, including but not limited to loss of data, revenue, or profits.
12. Changes to Terms
We may modify these terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes by posting the new terms on this page. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance.
13. API Usage
InceNar offers a public REST API for developers to integrate book data, embed readers, and receive webhooks. Use of the API is subject to the following:
- You must register for a developer account at dev.incenar.com and obtain a valid API key.
- API keys are personal and may not be shared or exposed in client‑side code.
- Usage is subject to rate limits based on your subscription tier. Exceeding limits may result in temporary throttling or suspension.
- You may not use the API to circumvent purchase requirements or scrape content for unauthorized redistribution.
- We reserve the right to revoke API access for violations of these terms.
